An underutilized backyard workshop was put to work as an income producing two-bedroom, wheelchair accessibly ADU. with it’s own private yard without interfering with family life in the primary home

A selection of projects we currently have at various stages of development.
This was the house that no one wanted. We saw opportunity to use local ADU ordinance to turn it into three modern homes to solve the problem
This garage conversion to a two-bedroom ADU leveraged an existing four-car structure to save on cost and time, and to boost the property value with an income producing asset.
A new construction home which maximizes modern ideals of light, open concept, and volume and blends it so that the home is at once contemporary but in harmony with a traditional style.
This new construction home uses subtle architectural moments, such as walls pulled back from the ceiling and clerestory indows over the kitchen cabinets to create a modern home that has an architectural flow and is filled with natural light.

commercial Projects

At dwelling lab, we specialize in transformative architecture for commercial spaces bringing new life to existing buildings through expertly crafted tenant improvements and adaptive reuse. From revitalizing historic structures to tailoring modern workplaces, our designs blend innovation with deep respect for the Bay Area’s unique character, codes, and communities. Whether reimagining an industrial warehouse or customizing office interiors, we help our clients unlock value, sustainability, and lasting impact.

Our approach uses modest, strategic design moves that maximize impact while staying within a tight budget, energizing the space with a sense of purpose and vitality.
